Time for a debate here...Have you ever wondered...

What made you choose the cars you did?

What I mean is, I always see the "Piss on _____" sticker (which I think is about the stpidest thing you can put on a car) and think WTF? Why?

So...why did you choose what you have?

    ...and like I say, if I didn't have a Camaro, I would have a Mustang...yeah, with Flowmasters...

      Hmm..

Obviously I have eclectic taste in automobiles. I will never own a Japanese car but I love German and American cars. My bias against Japanese cars has nothing to do with racism or culturism.. I have never seen, ridden in, or driven one that I liked. I hate every time I read that Ford or GM are using Japanese-sourced platforms or engines (example: upcoming Focus and small Rover). I wish the Big Three hadn't so completely botched the 1970's oil crisis and the associated push towards compacts. That being said, you'll never see Calvin peeing on anything on my car.

Mustang: I traded in my SVT Contour in order to take advantage of 0% financing. The Cobra caught my eye, and blew me away when I had a chance to drive it. I am keeping this one forever, for my future family. It will be a toy for me and my (hopefully some day) son.

Capri: replaced my original 1979 Capri when I decided to jump ship and build a tubbed Chevy powered car.

Jetta: needed a nice, reliable, EFFICIENT daily driver to replace my BMW. The dealer is a client of mine.. Jetta was always in my blood ever since my time in Uptown . Wonderful car, one of the nicest cars I have ever driven.

Ever since i was a little kid, my dad took and my brother to car shows. And he always told us storys about he 1970 Mach 1 with the 428 CJ and shaker scoop. He always show us cool stangs, and told us about them. My older brother then one day got to ride in a old Stingray Vette, and became a Chevy man, and always arguing with me about Ford VS Chevy (until one day i let him drive me Stang for a night, and he started wanting a Stang). And i went the way my pop wanted, and bought myself a stang (that he found for me).

See, that is what is sad for their generation, they almost always have some "dream car" they sold in the 1970's. That is why I plan on keeping my car around so I don't have the same regrets. If anybody wonders why I don't drive it often, that's why (BRAD...).

when i was a kid shopping for a car with my parents at a ford dealer in the show room was a 1993 cobra. Nice red one like usuall. When i sat in it i knew i wanted a car like this when i grow up. Remember asking my parents to get this car and they were like "no way, but when you grow up you can get one" as a light bulb pops in my head Thats what sparked my interest in mustangs and im prolly going to be loyal to the brand for some time to come.

                well lets see....

my parents made me till i was 18 and graduated from high school... so with grad money in hand all 2,000 i was going to go get me a car....... after looking for about 2-3 weeks found this white 87 chevy ext cab low rider pickup.... always wanted a low rider.... especially a pickup.... ran home to wait for my dad to get home to tell him about it.... so the next morning we went and test drove and he didnt say anything the whole time.... so im like ok ... as we get out of the truck as we return to the dealer my dad says to the guy... " he'll think about it " and we left for breakfast..... all he could say or answer any of my questions..... was it was a chevy and hes been a ford tech for 35 years and he couldnt help me if it needed repair... so basically he said no.... dont even think of it.... so i let it go....2 days latter my neighbor down the block(really hot blonde) was selling her highschool car....79 5.0 mustang ghia hatch c4 automatic and 7.5 open diff... that how i got into mustangs ,,,

as for why i have one still..... 1 word....

                cheap

Because I can't afford a new Corvette and I like the Mustang a little more than an F-body car. My car is relatively quick and I think it looks awesome. Plan on keeping it forever, because of the stories my Dad told me about the muscle cars that he had and then sold and now wishes he had again.

I was savin my money for a year when I was 16 hoping to find a 1994 Firebird formula in silver with an M6 and T-tops. Then my buddy Eric bought his 87 GT... Nuff said I was sold on Mustangs. (It was funny cuz I ragged on him sooo bad when he was telling me he was going to go pick up a 5.0. When he finally picked it up I hopped in, all it took was one burnout.)

And when those people had those cars, i don't think their happy memories of them are of going out to the garage and looking at it before they got into their econobox...

I LOVE Mustangs and pretty much always have. Their the working man's performance car built the way god intended with 8 cylinders and power to the rear wheels. I like the cars, and i like what they represent. i don't think they're supposed to be trophies, and that's why i don't generally care for the outrageously priced ones like Saleens. But that's another great thing about them, parts are cheap and therefore the cars are very versatile.

Played Gran Turismo 2. Purchased a Bright Atlantic Blue Mustang GT. Slapped some yellow wheels on it and said . . . "If I ever own a mustang, this will be it.
Things began to fall in place, money was coming in, and it was time to get a car. I always thought a mustang was an affordable performance vehicle.
When the time to buy came along, the closest blue to me was in Washington DC. Settled on white because its easy to care for. Yellow wheels are ugly.
