Everyone I have talked to that does not live here says that Minnesota is (or they think it is based on ignorance) a shitty place to live. I have lived all over the United States. I have lived mostly here in Minnesota, but have lived on the East Coast for a long time and a brief stint on the West Coast, and a few months in Missouri and Atlanta. Everywhere I go, people say the accents are terrible, which after living away from here and coming back I agree, they are bad, but you get over it. And the main thing is, oh, it’s so cold there, which of course is true. But after all of the events that have happened I am starting to think that Minnesota is not such a bad place to live. On the East Coast you have to worry about terrorist attacks to some degree, quakes in California and really high housing costs, Hurricanes in the South, tornadoes in the southern Midwest, and Cold Weather and sometimes floods here in Mn. Sure the taxes suck, but I think with the cold weather, it keeps the place from becoming too overpopulated like NYC or LA. The housing market is relatively decently affordable and the jobs are pretty easy to come by and pay well compared to many places. For one thing, I can honestly say that the women here are top notch. Even my friend who has traveled all around the US says that Mn has by far the hottest women per capita even more so than California. There’s a lot of things to do IF you live in the Twin Cities, and lots of things to see if you like nature. It’s not that bad of a place to live, it’s not Hawaii, but for me, right now, it’ll do.
My thoughts on living in Minnesota.

i havn't lived in a variety of places like you have, but i totally agree. as far as comparing to MN to orlando or florida in general, MN is way less crowded, a safer place to live, and IMO has alot more to do(besides the beach and ocean).
sure it gets cold in the winter, but there are plenty of things to do during the winter. all i know is il definitley be trying to find a job in MN when im done with school.

I'm actually looking to move to the Atlanta Metro area. Possibly Gwinnett or Henry County.Originally posted by OutrunEveryone I have talked to that does not live here says that Minnesota is (or they think it is based on ignorance) a shitty place to live. Altanta was cool, really hot and humid, but their Marta, the public transit system is one of the best I have ever seen. Shit is relatively cheap, does not get cold, and the women are pretty hot. The place where the Falcons play is Awesome, the Georgia Dome. Makes our dome look like shit, but that’s not too hard. Not too sure about the rest of the state though. Didn’t really go anywhere else.Originally posted by Dave90GTI'm actually looking to move to the Atlanta Metro area. Possibly Gwinnett or Henry County.

I love Minnesota. I tried moving to south Florida a couple years ago and ended up turning right back around. Too crowded for me, and I definately did NOT experience this souther hospitality that I have heard so much about...it was quite the opposite. This makes sense though, since most of the people I ran into in south Florida were from the Midwest anyways, either on vacation or staying in their gijillion dollar winter homes.
I think I'll stay.

Atmosphere said it best in his track Ssssh (awesome song)
He's a rapper from Uptown who's semi-famous and he did a whole song about living in Minnesota.

You know
Big ups my hometown
My territory
My state but,
I couldnt figure out much to brag about
Well, prince lives here
We got ten thousand lakes
But wait
The women are beautiful
To me they are
And were not infested
With pretentious movie stars
And it hit me man
Minnesota is dope
If only simply for not what we have
But what we dont
Its all fair
It aint out there
Its in there
Its in the mirror
Behind the breast
Under the hair
Follow the dream
Doesn't mean leave the love
Roam if you must
But come home when you've seen enough
I love new york and cali
But i aint movin
Too over populated
Saturated with humans
And im not big on rappers, actors, or models
If i had to dip
I'd probably skip to Chicago
None of this
is a diss
No one
No where
Like damn im from minnesota
Land of the cold air
Too many mesquitoes and a fair share of egos
But like my man Sabe says
Thats where my mommy stays
So if the people laugh and giggle when you tell em where you live
Say shh...say shh..
And if you know this is where you wanna raise your kids
Say shh...say shh..
If your from the midwest and it doesnt matter where
Say shh...say shh
If you can drink tap water and breathe the air
Say shh...say shh...
Got trees and vegetation in the City i stay
The rents in the mail
And i can always find a parking space
The women out number the men two to one
Got parks and zoo's and things to do with my son
The night life aint all that
But thats ok
I dont need to be distracted by the devil everyday
And the jobs aint really hard to find
Infact, you could have mine if you knew how to rhyme
This is for everyone around the planet
That wishes they were from somewhere other than where They're standin
Dont take it for granted
Instead take a look around
Quit complaing and build somthing on that ground
Plant somthing on that ground
Dance and sleep on that ground
Get on your hands and knees and watch the ants walk Around the ground
Make a family
Make magic
Make a mess
Take the stress
Fill your motovation
And build your nest
It sucks that you think where im from is whack
But as long as thats enough to keep your ass from comin back
And with a smile and a hint of sarcasim he says
I beg your pardon, but this is my secret garden
In the land of ice and snow
In the land of ice and snow
In the land of ice and snow
So if the people laugh and giggle when you tell em where you live
Say shh...say shh..
And if you know this is where you wanna raise your kids
Say shh...say shh..
If your from the midwest and it doesnt matter where
Say shh...say shh
If you can drink tap water and breathe the air
Say shh...say shh...
If the playground is clear of stems and syringes
Say shh...say shh...
And if theres only one store in your town that sells twelve inches
Say shh...say shh...
If no one in your crew walks around with a gun
Say shh...say shh...
And if you aint gonna leave cause this is where your from
Say shh... say shh...

That is insanity. However, I was looking at www.atlantagasprices.com and it seems like they are about as bad as here.Originally posted by BirdofPrey97Enjoy the $6/gal fuel right now. Haha Punch, I was going to post that...Atmosphere is great. I started listening to them back in 1998 before Atmosphere, when he and another guy I forget his name were in a group called The Dyno Spectrum. Good album. Check it out. Screw that, if you want to support them, go to his store in Uptown...The 5th Element, you can talk to Slug directly if he is there. He's a pretty cool guy. Funny thing is I was walking around Venice Beach in LA and heard Atmosphere being played at a few different shops. They love Atmosphere on the West Coast. One of the most underrated rappers in my opinion and refuses to be held down by a record lable.
