    Chrome wheel cleaning advice

Whats the best thing to use to clean chrome rims?

Is the amonia (or any other chemical for that reason) in "windex" or any such glass cleaner hard on chrome?

It works very well indeed, my worry is the chemicals in it having my chrome finish for lunch

              I disagree.

                lol noobs

If they are actually "chrome" and not polished allumnium or any other type of fake chrome, then use steel wool w/glass cleaner. I thought this was pretty common knowledge but i guess not. And no, the steel wool will NOT scratch the chrome.

Any quality wadding compound will get stubborn brake dust and road grime off. For the weekly wash, mild dish detergent and a brush will do.

                      Haha, I said wadding.

Its been said I'm insane about cleaning my rims on many levels. I'm pissed cuz I can't find out what type of rim I have, its a pretty basic 5 spoke chrome (um....i think), with the emblem of a mustang and vertical line thingey. (see 40th aniversary badge minus the number "40" on it). Will post a pic tomorrow.

                          Thanks guys.

p.s. im not talking about a deep clean, I'm talking about a spiff n shine before I take the car out so they SPARKLE

Thats more of an unfinished metal polish, not chrome.
