    Dodge SRT-4

Phusion seems to believe that a Dodge SRT-4 is a "totally sweet car."

    opinions?

(i have a feeling Phusion may be under the influence of one or more substances.)

    I like 'em...

Chrysler knows how to make cheap fast turbo fours (remember all the Shelby-ized things years ago - Lancer, Daytona, Omni).

Nice to see a domestic Sport Compact have totally 'up yours' performance compared to all the Imports (especially Hon-Duh) - except the WRX STi and Mitsu Evo, both of which are $5k+ more expensive. Imagine how fast a SRT-4 would be with $5k in mods...........

I know, its still a Neon, but I'd roll one.

      make cheap
Key point, cheap. I dont care if you take and put a sweet $20,000 viper motor and shove it into a neon, its still a nice motor in a POS car.

Disposable car with a good motor is not a good combo. Just my honest opinion.
I send myself PM's so I roll with a full inbox! Sweet35th style!

for the price, you really can't beat them... the numbers they're putting out at the wheels are VERY impressive. i don't care if you don't like dodges, sport compacts, or fwd, you can't deny them.

ew, I'm no huge neon fan but to choose a Japanese car over one? Boooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooring.

            Honda != performance.

The only way I would ever buy an Asian import would be if all other manufacturers ceased to exist. In that event, I would get a WRX.

              why???????????????
did you WANT to have a slower car?

edit ---> i don't care if nobody likes neons. hell, i thinkg they're di****able. but the fact of the matter is, is that this srt4 is a quick car, and could probably beat most of OUR members cars!. and i've heard the internals are bulletproof. and that is that, plain and simple. (if i'm being an ass, sorry, it's been a long night.)

another edit... that word says dispikable... (spelled wrong i know) but it was edited out i think for racial reasons.

I saw one out cruising the other day...decent looking car IMO. I'd spend the extra few grand and get a GT though...

I'm very far from a Dodge/Chrysler fan.... in fact II think the post 92's are damn near the biggest pieces on the road. Junk engineering, cheap build quality, and a ton of recipts at my shop to prove it over the past 5 plus years. BUT... the SRT is way different. One of my friends is a tech at a dodge dealer and was nice enough to let me attend some meeting and tech classes/bullitions on this motor as he knew I was fan of the dsm's for a bit. All I can say is the this engine internally is built! The elec boost controller is a piece, but they are getting some great dyno numbers with new plugs and a Manual boost controller. All this for 20 grand.... that is impressive to me. I'm tired of the over priced car market... about time someone fallows through on the concept GM had with theire LT1 f-bodies... a fair price tag, good stock performance, and a lot of room to grow.

Hey! The V8SHO's are kewel :smoking The SVT 'tours... well they're okay, but I've heard alot of problems (plus they're under powered for an SVT).
The SVT focus... rims are cool, thing handles nicely, system bumps, but focus being like the #1 recalled car ever I guess ... needs more power too.

But the Mustang is purpose-built for that. The Neon is intended to be your daughter's college car.

The only thing cool about sport compacts is that many of the high performance production models mirror very closely their rally-racing counterparts. It's like in the '60s when you could watch a Boss 302 win a Trans-Am race, then go buy one the next day. Modern tube chassis plastic body race cars that have ZERO parts in common with the showroom models they're "based" on are stupid as hell. If a "Taurus" wins a NASCAR race does that have any effect on sales? I would venture to say NO.
