    How much?

Just made a list of my mods and added up the retail cost of the mods and it's over $12K without any labor, Heres some of the list:

*QA1 double adjustable shocks on all 4 corners.
*Hotchkis: panhard bar, trailing arms, and strut tower brace.
    *Eibach: Pro kit
*Kenny Brown double diamond frame connectors.
*Ford 9inch rear end with aluminum center section with 4:11's and 35 spline gun drilled axels.
*Jet Hot long tube headers into y-pipe.
    *Magna flow cat back.
    *Granatelli mass air.
    *K&N.
    *Air foil.
    *LT4KM.
    *March crank pulley.
    *NX 20920-10
*MSD Digital 6, coil, digital window switch, Opti spark.
    *Stewart Warner shift light/tach.

my car is cheap and slow, without much money into mods..

A lot of your $$$ in mods is towards cool shit like the brakes, susp, and rearend which might not show up as much in #'s but make the car complete and badass

Lots of parts into the MESS, total of about $2300-2400 depending on "market value" of a couple things I found for free. Without "market value" inflations some where around $1700-1800.

If I consider the new Capri an extenion of the MESS project then it'll be about $4G's. Including the purchase of the car, the planned cage, planned paint, and new header.

        -Duck

On Edit: Both costs include the purchase of the cars...

Counting wheels and tires I probably have about 3 grand into my car right now. Not too bad.

True most of those mods will not do anything for power but it does make a nice foundation for a huge stroker with a power adder in the near future and that was/is my plan. Build the foundation and then buile the power plant and do it the right way since i will keep this car forever.

I'm with you but I don't think I'll ever make my car very fast. I'm just doing stuff that makes it more fun to drive, like coilover.. shifter.. exhaust. Just enjoying daily driving it is my real only goal. I don't have the bank roll to make it fast and reliable.

That's the smart way. Unfortunately, most people start at the other end (been guilty of that myself in the past).

I have about $1k into the 'Bird, including the wheels/tires. $0 into the motor.

Everything all said and done, I believe I have right around $6000 in my car (including the purchase price of course). Oh shit, I just bought heads, make that about $6500. I will probably end up spending another $1000 on motor stuff this year. Maybe it will be faster than my girlfriends Volkswagon finally.

Edit: Eh, I forgot about some suspension and tire purchases, I guess I have more like $7000 - $7500, I would have to look at some reciepts to be sure.

If you are able, save them a place inside of you and save one backward glance when you are leaving for the places they can no longer go. Be not ashamed to say you loved them, though you may or may not have always. Take what they have left and what they have taught you with their dying and keep it with your own. And in that time when men decide and feel safe to call the war insane, take one moment to embrace those gentle heroes you left behind.

Including the price of the car and the tranny rebuild I currently have about 9K into it. Now if I get my front coilovers and power rack and pinion steering that will put me to 14K.
