Pro-M is going out of buisness I just read that on the corral. This is really shocking to me, I thought as a company, they were huge and doing good.

Just a FYI, Maybe a going out of biz sale Start buying the stock 99+ or lightning and get them tuned or the C&L I guess.

especially funny considering Granatelli doesn't make anything themselves. Take a look at every product, it is another product they put their sticker on...

Also - I heard it was a rumor about pro-m. They got out of the tuner (like superchips) business but still make meters. That is what I heard.

I saw this coming. As the internal functions of engine controllers and MAFs became more completely known it was realized that there were numerous better/cheaper ways to solve the 'MAF' problem that Pro-M had based their business on. Modern tuners and independent problem-solvers (like me) basically made them unnecessary and even inferior. The Univer MAF was the only necessary contribution they had left and you can't support even a small business on just that.
Most of the cutting-edge tuners have basically abandoned them and the quality of their products has been in the toilet for years now.

Don't go jumping off a bridge or anything because of it. It's just the un-survival of the un-fittest.

Anyways, I don't see why al you guys talk so bad about the C&L housings. If you have your car tuned with it in the car, you should be fine. I have never heard of anyone having a problem with their car if they have it dynotuned with the C&L installed.

C&L sucks! You shouldn't have to pay for a tune just to get a MAF that works correctly.

I didn't need to get a tune to get one that worked correctly. From what I've been told, they are kind of hit and miss...kinda like the Pro-M's are on the Lincolns....

I have been waiting for my Univer from Pro-M for over a month. I purchased it from JDPerformance and at the same time JD's was moving there companie, changing phone #'s also was Pro-M's. JD assurered me (after I got there new phone #) that my Univer will be shipped. Still today I am waiting! I placed my order back in Feburary and my funds were taken out of my bank account as I purchased it "on-line". I read that article on Corral as I was researching the cause of my delay. I also buy and sell a lot on corral. JD's have not heard any of the rummors that they are going under, rather I was told that they are moving and it has backed up orders for MONTHS. The rumors were all started because of the back orders, and people trying to impact there business because of it.

~As far as I am told (buy one of there main distributors) they are just in the process of moving facilities to handle the increase in business.

~Do take what you hear of the internet with a grain of salt. And before you go making mass histeria take a simple phone call and find out from the horses mouth. I have big money tied up with them and no product to speak of yet, but I am not worried. I was when NO phone numbers seemed to work, and I even made a post about it to see if anyone else was dealing with my same dilema. I'll be the first to rant and rave if I get screwed out of my money---believe me!

Settle down, settle down. When I hear more I will post more. But I will not post rumors trying to interupt a businesses dealings.

from the threads I read, people have picked up the phone to try and find out and all they get is an answering machine that has all mailboxes full... Kind of hard to confirm anything that way.
