    looking for a job

At the job I'm currently at, I have hit upwards of 200% of the store's goal the last few months in a row. I get paid according to what percentage of my goal I hit, and since I have been doing so well they have been paying me more than they expected. So they decided to raise the goal this month and will continue to do so. By doing this, they've cut my pay so low that it's almost not worth it to work here anymore. In order, I've worked at Best Buy, Ultimate, Circuit City, and now I work in different Best Buys for a subcontracted sales consulting company. I've gotten a lot of training and experience in sales and would like to find a job where I can use this.

Any offers or ideas would be awesome

You shouldn't try so hard at work, it always leaves you fucked in the end. Team Wireless sounds evil to me now.

I disagree, keep it up Andy I believe that it will pay off in the end. The world is run by lazy fucks, and sooner or later somebody will notice your hard work and you'll get the job you deserve. It has happened to quite a few people I know, you just have to be patient.

I thought you were still at Circuit City...I need to get out more.

Well, if the world is run by lazy fucks, then it appears that being a lazy fuck REALLY pays off!

Don't get caught up in the idea of just working harder. I know it may sound like a tired statement, but work "smarter". What does this mean, you may ask?

Think about the potential consequences of your approach - both positive and negative. Think about how it may affect others. Will your good work make others feel inadequate? If so, this is not your fault, but you may pay the price with expectations. I do not suggest that you lower the quality of your work!

Take a proactive role and discuss incentive pay with the management ahead of time and establish good rapport. In these discussions, set your expectations to succeed and discuss what you want to accomplish - getting promoted quickly, being a valuable asset for the company and earning a wage commensurate with your production, for example.

I know...it can sound stupid. Just realize, as you work HARD for some people/companies, you provide them with greater profit potential. They are driven to maximize profit. Good managers create policies to support good employees, not punish them.

            Good luck!

Sounds like a bad deal to me. So you exceed expectations and they take away incentives. You work for a contract sales company? What the heck is that.

The company I work for just signed another 3 year contract to support applications at the client I'm at for about the same money. However, we are about 60% of the staff of 3 years ago since we know the apps well and can resolve any issues faster. But, try to get a day off................ and no COL raises or anything else. They told one guy in the weekly meeting if he wasn't happy to find another job. He didn't say another word.

                Best of luck.

I don't know anything about the contract his company has with BBY, but if it's fixed, he could be costing them too much money(profit). The incentives could be designed to motivate and meet sales quota's written into the contract not thinking someone is going to double his quota. The company is going to maximize profit, not sales.

I do agree with everything you said.

                      This is common in sales.

As you demonstrate you are capable, the company will almost always raise your target numbers. The goal is to show others that higher results are possible. The problem you are running into is the method of pay. Time to negotiate a different structure. Because I have reached this level, my base pay should be increased by x%. Now if I sell over my quota by y%, this is my bonus.

                      Along those lines anyway.

Working on commission only will almost ALWAYS bite you in the a$$.

time to make your own little union apparently. If the 60% left all quits, they'll be left re-staffing completely I would guess, especially if it's custom apps that will take other people time to learn and fill in on. That's most likely a pipe dream, but if you're getting shafted that bad...

Oh but be careful. Trust me when I say that unions are not good at all, either for the employer, and especially for the employees in the union.

I don't think unions are the answer in this case. Staff is made up of Canadians and probably 50% from India. They don't have a choice who they can work for and have families to support.

I would not say that unions are bad across the board. I work with many union construction shops as well as non-union shops and both have there down falls.

Union: Excellent advanced training, great end product results, low job site accidents

Non-union: Cheaper, a lot of the time faster (general sence), motivated individuals, lower overhead costs

In the end ther is not a clear winner. Do you want a high quaility job, cheap job, fast job....many things to consider.
