ok everybody, check this out.

Apparantly Best Buy might be getting sued because some kid had an in-dash video screen installed. Sources say he got into a car accident and died because he wasn't paying attention to the road and watching a movie. Best buy installed it, and it seems some installer told him how to by pass the e-brake function that allows it to play only when the car is parked, and now the parents are suing. whaddya think?

good luck proving the tech told him how to do it... and even if he did, if the the tech didn't do it himself, it's not best buy's responsibility. At best, the people should only be allowed to sue the kid. Best buy has no control over what their employees tell people they can or can't do. If I worked there and told someone how to overclock their cpu and they fried it in the process you can't exactly sue best buy because you were dumb enough to try it.

All I have to say is "Hot Coffee". Everybody is so sue-happy these days. Grow up, and take some responsibility. It's not like the kid couldn't find any info on how to bypass it on ANY car audio forum. Sue them too while you are at it.

Survival of the smartest. Doesn't Best Buy have some disclaimer or something like that for heir installs? Doesn't the Manufacturer have that warning sticker in the box that says we are putting this here cause someone actually tried something stupid that they knew better but still did anyways.

Yeah, there's disclaimers on everything but I'm sure the case will go to some weakass senile judge that will give the little bastards parents some loot. Fucking politics I tell ya...

I think it's obviously very sad tha the kid died (if this is true), however I agree with everyone else that the kid should have used better judgement.
