May be a bit south but ride the train from Durango To Silverton, spectacular views..
Durango and Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad Train provides historic and entertaining vintage train rides to the public year round.

I agree, narrow gauge train ride FTW

Spent a summer/fall in N. New Mexico and had plenty of weekend trips up into Colorado. Pagosa Springs is pretty neat, Durango is a great town. The 550 from Ridgway down to Durango is probably one of the more beautiful drives in the country. Bring your camera bag, an extra layer of clothes, and picnic gear. Trust me Brah, dedicate at least one day to the south side of Colorado

Also, about this time of year, it'll be colder and there's more than likely a little bit of snow on some of the 10k + peaks.

Dear Government, eventually the people with money will tell you to fuck off, and stop paying for those that don't work

It said it was going to be 79-80 deg. That suprised me.

A lil Scuba action you say? Not a big draw in CO I don't think.

yeah, that's not in Denver. That's like telling someone to check out lake superior while in the twin cities.

Chrisnuts and I just made that drive on our way back from Phoenix in July. Stopped at the Carver Brewing CO for Breakfast in Durango, and that was the bomb food. Their automatic lights in the men's room shut off too early to properly drop a morning-road trip-deuce though.

Go to Rocky Mountain National Park / Estes Park. Short drive from Denver, but it's a place everyone should visit at least once in their life. I spent a lot of summers there as a kid.

And Stephen King spent part, of 1 winter there...
