Restoration stuff has gotten a lot better and a lot cheaper. Unless you absolutely have to keep your budget as low as possible, I'd at least look into the new stuff before resorting to a junkyard. Sometimes the new stuff is even less expensive than the worn out 50 year old parts you will find rotting away in a pasture. It is fun to run around in a junkyard, though.1970 Mustang convertible 302/C4

Joe's been crushing and liquidating pretty heavily the last few years. Wasn't much left 3 or 4 years ago. Almost everything was starting to return to the earth and bury itself. Windy Hills is by far the best locally. Too bad it's a haul if you live on the east side of the cities.Originally posted by Biff Tannen View PostYes. Joes' auto, actually in Vermillion (same thing). I spent a lot of time down there when my dad and I restored a 67 cougar about 15 years ago. not sure if he's still around, but I'm sure others here could verify.

Haul is right.....Was worth the trip tho----First time I've ever been to a junkyard that let's you drive around the lot....found a couple old stangs that were completely rotted to the ground (weeds growing where the floorboards and trunk use to be) But all the Stainless moldings were still in perfect condition. Had to use a Machete to chop down the brush to get to the car but well worth it...Originally posted by Doodler View PostJoe's been crushing and liquidating pretty heavily the last few years. I was just out there a few weeks ago. You should see the organization now. It's set up like Upull now. No more trees growing through the middle of cars now and they are all lined up in sections.Originally posted by Toe Knee View PostHaul is right.....Was worth the trip tho----First time I've ever been to a junkyard that let's you drive around the lot....found a couple old stangs that were completely rotted to the ground (weeds growing where the floorboards and trunk use to be) But all the Stainless moldings were still in perfect condition. Thanks... what I thought just needed a core support---- ended up needing front frame rails, new shock towers, new inner fenders, new outer fenders, new hood, new deck lid,new rear frame rails, new rear pan, all new suspension, differential, New engine (pretty much everything on the car has been replaced)What I thought was going to take me 6 months has taken 6 years.... This is the first car I have ever restored and wanted to do all the work myself including Paint and Body... I learned a lot over those 6 years.... Can't wait to drive itOriginally posted by jp67stang View PostNice looking car. I know a guy in Tyler MN. Hundreds of mustangs he usually ships also.Beer consumption specialist
