Ford Focus RS to have 350 HP/350 TQ + AWD

Not too shabby - will likely eat more than a few cars here. (even Flex)

The 2016 Ford Focus RS is set to be a drift king—it even has a button for getting sideways. But now we know that to help with the slidey bits, the little but nut will pump out a ridiculous 350 horsepower and 350 pound-feet of torque, which is way more than the initially-anticipated 320 HP, and up even from recent figures of 345 horses.

I agree it's on par with the WRXs. Should be good to see how the stack up.

My dealership called. Gonna go price one out.

Base price is 35.7k. Only thing that might be worth adding is the wheel package for $1400, otherwise the standard stuff is fine for me. Power seats not worth $3k in my opinion. Color selection is a bit disappointing.

If I can trade in my Focus ST with minimal cash to keep the same payment I'll probably do it.

Talked to the dealership. They are only importing 2100 RS's, so it's probably going to be difficult to actually get one. My dealership only got one and it's already been purchased.

Only importing 2100. What the hell is that crap? For years Ford has sucked a fat one with their boring ass shit while we saw...

                  Evolutions
                  STi's
                  Neon SRT-4's

Plus whatever else came out that Ford had no answer to. And now that they finally decide to release cars that can compete with the Evolutions and STi's....10 years too late IMO, they only import a small number and it costs 35 MFing grand? Give me a break. That is way too damn much for a Focus. Even if it had 500/500, that still way too much.

Edit: I just noticed sonicx said 38-39 grand? I'd still take my car over that and it's 11 years old, and was 32,000. What a joke Ford, serious.

Orange crush is right on the msrp however, very few people are gonna get the stripped model. I think it's a joke of what they charge of what the majority would assume "standard" for a 35k plus car. Add in the dealer premium (due to low production) and you're pushing that. It's terrible. And I agree with what all outrun said above.

I also noticed that Orangecrush said power seats are a 3000.00 upgrade? Laughable. When it's all said and done, 45+ grand after taxes and all that shit doesn't seem unrealistic. That is too much.

A track friend of mine down by Chicago just bought a Focus ST, his dad has a Roush Black Jack, they ran on the track together, the Black Jack could barley keep up, and I had the same experience with one at Road America in June. They are great track cars. I agree with above, I could buy Roush or Shelby for the same or less money. I can point you to several Stage 3 Roush's for the same or less money, with 600+ hp! At least that way you can run 175 on the straight's instead of 120.

Here's a video of the chase

The base model for me looks fine. There are hardly any options for the RS. You can get different rims, you can add track tires to it, you can add a sun roof, the already mentioned 3k recaro seats, and a stupid navigation thing.

When I was at the dealer the guy that actually got his car ordered spent about 43k for the RS2 package, which is basically everything above.

I think any cars that aren't going directly to customers are going to go over sticker price at the dealer. I never would have thought they would make this car so rare since people have been waiting for ford to make this over 10 years, like Outrun said.
