Picked up a new cordless combo

Went with the makita 18v brushless lithium ion impact driver and hammer drill/driver combo. That lil impact can take off lug nuts with the car off the ground. Beastly little bitch.

Did a lot of reading and Makita seems to be top notch. I know my dad has had a driver for over 20yrs. The old slip in 9v style.

Brushless is the way to go from what I ve been reading. What do you broke fgts have

I'm slowly switching over to Milwaukee brushless. So far, I'm impressed and the stuff is not overly expensive.

Milwaukee would have been my second choice.

If they had li ion I would have looked at one. Not to mention brushless won't be found there for a couple years I'd guess.

But there are black people in Milwaukee, so their stuff doesn't work!

All the brushless big players are made in China anyway lol. I like that makita pioneered both cordless tools and brushless though and they make their own motors and components. And their cells are Sony with energy star rating

I have a harbo frieght lithium ion impact gun. 12V nice and compact and works solid. Only issue i have had with it, is the charger will randomly cook the battery if you are not paying attention. It has a two years free replacement plan so i just take it in to get a new battery whenever i forget to take it off the charger.

I like hf stuff. Said it plenty of times. But for these items they are super heavy and bulky and down on power and features. Makita crushes them on all ways but price is obviously lower at hf

Milwaukee M18 Fuel brushless for me...... 1/2 inch drill, Sawzall, both 1/2 inch impacts, and a bunch of extra batteries. The stuff has been great so far.

I am not a fan of the milwaukee m18 shit. The batteries do not last long at all with their hacksall saw.
                        god damned tinypic.

I have Milwaukee 18v stuff and use both Snap On 14.4v and 18v stuff at work. I really don't have any complaints with any of it.

Interesting. I have been very impressed with battery life on all my m18 brush less tools.

Have you tried a few different battery packs.... maybe you got one bad one? Is it the 4.0 pack, or one of the older/smaller packs?

I use the Milwaukee 18v Xtended Capacity batteries and they seem last for fucking ever between charges as long as youre not working the living hell out of the tool.
