    Most livable cities in US.

For the fourth year in a row, Melbourne, Australia was named the world’s most livable city in the Economist Intelligence Unit survey. Meanwhile, Duluth, Minnesota was voted most livable city in the U....

Meh, that's reader voted so it's not shocking that readers of Outdoors Magazine would pick those places.

I guess if you absolutely have to live in a city, those aren't bad. Duluth is cool but its really kind of a shitty city

Duluth is off the hook as far as recreation goes. I would kind of like to live there. On track to be the best area in the midwest.

Interesting list. I don't get why Boulder is on that list though. Too many enviro-nazis and few recreational pursuits just outside of the city. I'd go nuts living there. There are so many better cities to live in around there

I like Utah, but I wouldn't live there until the Mormons left. I guess I need to go to Duluth sometime. I have not been there in about 10 years.

Utah gets a bad rap because of the Mormons, but it's not bad at all these days.

Talked to a guy at length this last week that lives in Utah, he says the Mormons are crazy and have alot of control over the government. Apparently they bought out a whole city block and are declaring things for this block like gays can't hold hands etc. Says he'd rather live in Colorado to get away from all the Mormon crap.

Some of them are, I can't say their religion and some of their specific beliefs are my cup of tea.

To a point, though their stronghold has diminished over the last 15-20 years.

That's an old issue and is no longer applicable. In 1999 the Mormon church bought a block adjacent to their temple to add gardens, a reflecting pool, and other stuff chicks like. At that time they did say restrictions would be in place as to what behavior could be displayed, types of clothes worn, etc.... on the sidewalks going through the property, but the ACLU sued successfully and now the church is not allowed to impose any restrictions on the plaza.

More power to him. I still maintain that the Mormon crap isn't an issue these days, most people that go to Utah are pleasantly surprised how nice it is and most would be hard pressed to identify significant Mormon influence in their daily lives. Alcohol is readily available, caffeine isn't a banned substance, the women are hot, not being a Mormon doesn't lead to cross burnings, and even gay people are allowed to do their thing - in 2012 SLC was named the 'gayest city' in the US. On top of it all you've got a racetrack just outside the city where Ford runs their Boss Track Attack challenge, amazing biking and hiking trails, and world class skiing. Oh the horror!!
