Are you going Eddy? That sure does seem like it would be a good time.

That's a good run for your car. Go for it!
      Don't ask, it's a midlife crises thing.

Tony, how fast do you think that car would go in a 1/2 mile? I'm guessing around a 150mph trap in the 1/4 if it's turned up, right? So maybe 180 in a 1/2 mile? You would have to go to a 2.73 gear and 28" tire to get anywhere near that speed at 7000rpm with 10% converter slip (just an estimate), but it could be done.

Kris, I've never done the calculation! I know cars similar to mine with smaller turbos have gone 8.80's @ 158+ in the quarter. Surely I would need a taller gear and tires, but I could run more rpm than 7000 also. Truthfully my bottom end could take 8000 rpm no problem.

I'd like to do some of this half mile stuff, but it might be wise to go observe and talk to some people before I go do it.

I would definitely do your research, that is some serious stress on a high HP application.

I am signed up for Sunday, hope the car is running good. Don't know what to expect so I will make a lower power pass and if all go's well start turning it up.

Mine would probably be in the 140 range in a 1/2 mile? Not that exciting.

                      This.

Should be very closely matched to max out a 3 speed. A full mile stretch and I think that last half mile wouldnt be much faster than the first half without OD.
