Cell Phone Again - T Mobile What am I missing?

Time for another cell phone thread. My wife and I are at the end of our contract with Sprint and would like to get smart phones, so I figured there was no better place to go then the experts of TCS. We have had good luck with Sprint for the last 8 years, but looking at smart phone plans doubles our cost.

So I checked out T Mobiles web site. They have a plan with unlimited text, unlimited web (first 5GB at 4G) and 100 min talk. For $30 a month with no contract. Why does this seem too good to be true? I realize you have to buy the phone, but they have some around $150, and even with contracts at the other providers people are paying well over that for a new phone.

I think you spend too much time in the more remote areas with your cycling, camping, and visiting your family that you wouldn't be happy with the signal/service.

Wife and I have T-Mobile and we pay $100/month for unlimited data (2 gigs at 4g), 1000 minutes and unlimited texts. T-Mobile is the shit in the metro, but as said it blows chode when you stray out into the wilderness.

I am dropping T-Mobile after 11 years and going with Verison. I don't like t-mobile, seems like their service has gone down hill,

Verizon is the only company that works for me, too bad it is also the most expensive. I have really been looking at the prepaid options now that they have decent phones and great data options but I don't want to buy one to find out it wont work for me at work.

One of my techs has Sprint but they informed him last month that they are cancelling his service due to his excessive roaming in Mondovi. Must be cutting into their profits to much.

I drive all around the metro and get maybe 5 dropped calls a week. Its not that horrible to deal with to save over 30 a month.

I have vzw. service area is awesome. but the family plan is stupid exspensive. its like 240 for 2 smart phones. and I just got a notice that if I renew my contract it is going up even more.

I am seriously considering boost. I know a few people that have it and they say the service is just as good as sprint.

I switched from Sprint to T-mobile a few months ago. I couldn't be happier with the service, although YRMV. I got the Galaxy S II, which is my first smart phone. I dont really use it for what it's worth. I just make calls/text and occationally go online when I need to. It does everything great. The camera on it is supposedly the best available on the market. It's takes some pretty good photos if you're out and about and dont feel like carrying a point and shoot.

BTW, I got the 200mb data plan and unlimited call and text and pay around $60 per month. I've never gone over 200mb. I think the only way you'd want more then that is if you want to stream video or music or you're someone who is obsessed with being connected.

I like TMobile and haven't had issues with them over the years, even outside of the metro.

I've been all over and haven't had a problem. Krisrs cabin is in the middle of nowhere and tmobile is the only carrier to work well up there.

I understand you have a religion called LS motors and you have faith that the LS motors break the laws of physics and work better and cost less than anything else ever built. Plus they never wear out.

                            I disagree.
