                Did he leave any family behind? Kids? Wife? I mean I am sure they are fine financially , but most Life Insurance wont pay on suicides.

                      Actually the majority of Life Insurance Policies have a suicide exclusion of 2 years. There's actually very few policies that exclude payment entirely if the insured commits suicide after a set period.

                          I confirm a factoid along these lines. I used to work for ING on life insurance policies. I have forgotten the timeframe, but it's in there so someone doesn't kill themselves immediately after getting a policy. only in movies have I ever seen where they dont pay out for suicide, and that makes for a good story line.
