Either 20k is a LOT more money, or the 60k dropped on a GT500 is fine because it's not the only car... pick one side of the argument. You can't have it both ways whenever it suits you.Originally posted by punchSFC is a bag of stupid.Capitalization is the difference between helping your uncle Jack off a horse & helping your uncle jack off a horse.

newsflash asshole, not everyone thinks like your f'd up way of thinking, most people don't care if they are .1 slower in a quarter mile with their convertible, or else they wouldn't buy the convertible. they either want a high hp gt500 vert, or they want a high hp gt500 coupe.Originally posted by Fosters View PostIf you're planning on doing 7 year finance and eating taco bell for that period, sure, it's a lot. From the more realistic point of view of the person capable of dropping 60k on a car, it's probably not going to be their only car anyway, so hard to argue that it's an increase in the budget... just replace the "other" car with v6 vert. And like I said, much easier and cheaper to live with in the long run. I can honestly say I don't know of anyone daily driving a 662+ hp car.
anybody spending 80k in mustangs is not going to buy a v6 vert either.
your argument about anyone spending 60k on a mustang can easily afford another 20k for a v6 vert is dumb too. if they can afford 80k in mustangs, then by your logic, they can surely afford 100k. and if they can afford 100k, then...

Why don't you tell us how much better of a car you can buy for 60k if you go german?Originally posted by punchSFC is a bag of stupid.Capitalization is the difference between helping your uncle Jack off a horse & helping your uncle jack off a horse.

I'm not going to debate it any longer. Your argument sucks ass. No one is going to buy a GT500 coupe and then a V6 to save weight or money.Originally posted by Fosters View PostEither 20k is a LOT more money, or the 60k dropped on a GT500 is fine because it's not the only car... pick one side of the argument. And in before you post a troll picture and say OMG I GOT YOU FUCKERS. LOLOLOL.

My argument is flawless simply for the fact that you're a fucking idiot trying to argue with my opinion. Yes, I realize others see the value in their choices, but I for one don't. That's it. I could fucking say I like it when its sunny or when it rains, and you fuckers would argue that it's much better when it's cloudy.Originally posted by Outrun View PostI'm not going to debate it any longer. Your reading comprehension is about that of an 8 year old, and your debate skills, switching from, "buying a coupe gt500 and a v6 vert is too much money", to "cost of tires are not a problem because no one daily drives these things", are those of a 7 year old. The hallmark of your argument? "OH YEAH, WELL YOU'RE WRONG!".

This got real interesting...
In my getting older age, I have found myself not wanting the fastest car I own to be the newest/best/nicest. In the next 3-5 years I would like to get into something such as a GT500; and in the last couple years have really grown fond of ragtops. My wife and I had a 2011 SS Camaro Vert in Hawaii for 2.5 weeks and she really enjoyed it. The year before we had a Hemi Challanger and a SS Hardtop while we were in Oahu. There is a refreshing feeling driving a ragtop with a decent amount of power and she is a hobby photographer so it makes taking random pictures very easy while crusing around. I wouldn't have the same fun driving a V6 Vert. The convertible part would be enjoyable, but the power would be lacking. You say then get a hardtop for the speed factor. While this would be the fastest platform, it would be lacking the pleasure driving around the vert. So how do we satisfy both the enjoyment factor of the convertible, with the speed factor of a GT500??
A GT500 Convertible!!
While I may get beat if I raced a comparible hardtop car, would I care? Absolutely not, as thats not the sole purpose of such car. I bet when I aquire such beast, it will rarely if ever see a racetrack, and will probably get less than 1000mi put on per year. It would only come out on the sunniest of days in perfect weather for a little excersize and some fun in the sun.
And who the heck worries about tire costs and oil changes on a GT500?? Not I !!1988 5.0 Notchback
100% Stock 302 Intake to Oil Pan as delivered from FORD Factory
100% Stock Driveline (T5, Clutch, 3.08's, control arms etc...)
100% Stock ECM/Tune ('88 California Mass air ECM)
1 bolt on... Baby Precision TE44 TURBO

That bolded part was what I was getting at. I guess I don't get the urges to go fast and soak up the sun at the same time like you guys.Originally posted by Turbo302 View PostThis got real interesting...

I don't need more than 300hp to cruise, but would take all 662+ to race or go to car shows and whatnot. The v6 should/would be deep in the triple digits with the top down as it sits...
