Then maybe you should record a phone conversation of you calling him and giving him a deadline to make good on the check to be used in court, because he knows the check was bad and most likely doesn't care because he's a scumbag.

over $200 Dollars the sheriff will do absolutely nothing. at most if you have the vin number or title number they will mark the title so it can not be transferred but that only works if the title is in your name.

if it was $2000 they might try to find it.

Police will do nothing in almost any case. If you gave him the title the car is his considering he technically "paid" you for the car. The law can't do shit for you. Take him to court.

the title was not in my name but like I said I don't want the car back- it was a shell taking up space..
