Still sucks

I was downstairs working in the basement when the song "Would" came on from Alice In Chains. As I was singing along my 6 1/2 old daughter asked who the song was by. I told her and decided to show her a video. It really sucks that the greats die way to early(Morrison, Hendrix, Bonham, Lennon, Dime Bag Darrell, fuck even Buddy Holly).

Why can't Barry Manilow, Bieber, Kanye West, etc. go?

I can still remember the day I heard "Smells like teen spirit" after seeing the video on MTV later on.. seeing sound garden, Alice in Chains, the movement was in full swing! (when they actually played something worth watching)

Really? At the time, IIRC, hair bands were really big and most of them sucked. Bands like Metallica and U2 lived through the grunge trend and continued to make kick ass music.

I've always thought Alice In Chains was widly overrated. I've never understood people's infactuation with them. Yeah, it's sad that their drug addicted singer (and bass player recently) both died from overdoses, but their music was terrible IMHO.

I've always been a fan of AIC. I think Metallica's music is awful though. I can appreciate their talent as musicians, but I really hate the music those people come up with. Some of their older stuff is alright, but everything they've done within the last 10-15 years I can't even listen to.

IMO the most overrated musician in the industry is Dave Matthews.

It's music. Nobody likes the same thing. That's like saying that steak is overrated because you're a vegetarian.
