    Fender Fabrication

Alright, I want to see if people here think this can be done. I would like to replace my fenders with Capri fenders, though maybe a little more extreme (kind of like the orange mclaren in the other thread). I would like to have a widebody Mustang, but I want it to be a unique widebody. I could just go out and buy a widebody kit, like the Maier widebody kit that Mustang Mike has, but I want to be original (and I don't want to rip off Mustang Mike, considering he probably has the fastest track Mustang in the state and deserves not to be copied). Is there any way to swap my fenders with a Capri and maybe pull them out a little? Or does anyone know of a widebody kit available that gives the same effect? I am no stranger to body work, so I would be ok with a bit of fabrication, but I am not really set up to torch and weld. Thanks.

Wide body=Wide tires. I'm sure with a stock motor, it would be a bitch to turn them, because Mustang Mike has 335/30 in the back, and 315's in front. Get a big motor first, 5 lug conversion, then a wide body kit so you can get wider wheels that are not even available in 4 lug. Then consider you have to get control arms in the back so you can eliminate the quads, or those fatties will hit the quads. Because, wide body with stock width wheels=teh ghey.

Capri fenders will work but you may have the massage the front section a bit to be able to use your FG corners... more in PMs

I love the front end on those old 4 eye Capris! Ive thought about this myself

I went drifting through the capitols of tin
where men cant walk or freely talk
and sons turn their fathers in

I have wider tires in the front of my truck (275/60 15's) and have no problems turning.
