    price check...91 camaro

if this is is supposed to be posted in the classified let me know and ill delete this and put it there...

im considering selling/trading my camaro but honestly dont know how to price it, i know you get like pennies to the dollar for what youve put into vehicles like this and really i should just throw it in the back yard and hope i get the itch to drive it for what it would probably sell for to what ive put into it but i never drive it and it just seems like a waste for me to have...i love it when i do get in and drive it but id rather get a c5 i guess that i can be alittle more comfortable in and have as a daily driver...this is what im thinking about as a for sale add (craigslist or wherever)...

    [the add]

    i have a 1991 camaro RS, 5 speed
    the good
a few years ago i swapped out the stock 305 with a crate motor i purchased from GM, a ZZ383 (i paid $4,585.00 for the motor alone) i added a edelbrock victor jr race manifold ($225.00), a holley double pumper 700cfm carb ($415.99), a MSD pro billiet HEI distributor ($198.98) and a MSD 6al ignition ($195.95) and some other under the hood goodies (i have reciepts for most of the stuff ive purchased) there is easily less than 2,000 miles on the engine i had the engine dynod before it was put in and while i dont have the dyno sheets infront of me it was something like 430hp and 450ftlbs tq...i have had it at the track and its best time was a 11.52 @126mph with a terrible 60 foot, if you dont suck at driving like i do im sure you can get a 10.xx out of it...

has 17" replica c5 corvette rims

rear tires are mickey thompson ET street drag radial 275/40/17 (215.00 EACH)

swapped out the rear drum brakes for the rear disc off a 4th gen fbody

    AC delete box

inside the car ive removed the rear seats (wish i still had them for you) and the front seats i replaced with Corbeau TRS cloth seats ($320.00 EACH) and have 5 way camlock harness' ($109.00 EACH) for safety belts...

along the a-pillar i have a pod that holds autometer phantom series gauges, they are the air/fuel ratio, fuel pressure and nitrous pressure gauges

i also have the NOS cheater nitrous kit with 10 lb bottle and the brackets for it have a built in heater...

not installed but included are a set of jegs brand subframe connectors bolt and/or weld in, spohn adjustable rear control arms ($179) and adjustable panhard bar ($139) i also have the pieces for a 8 point roll cage that came out of a friends camaro, would just need to be welded back together and installed...

the car was repainted black and the flames were sprayed in using a mix of different house of kolor kandys but is basicly kandy purple flames...

    the not so good...

the above the front window on the passenger side someone took a golf club to it one night so there is a dent, also behind the driver side rear fended i backed into something and there is a dent there too, neither are horribly horrible and from feets away you dont even notice it...

the rear hatch is automatic, it latches but it doesnt pull it down

the speedometer doesnt work, just needs to be wired

the chrome on the inside part of the rim is peeling on a couple of the rims, its noticeable if you look at the rims but not if u just walk past as the spokes and the lip are not peeling, its more behind the spokes...

5th gear is out and the tranny whines badly while moving in the other gears (i went to race someone one time and they said no because they thought i had a super charger lol but it was just my tranny whining) you can have the 5 speed that i bought just havent put in yet

passenger side window doesnt roll down, i have the new window regulator to make it work but have not installed it

the nitrous is 95 percent hooked up, i will rehook it up for you before you take it otherwise the wireing might be tough to figure out going into it blindly...i unhooked it up because i repainted all the iterior plastic black (looks brand new)

the driver side seat is not bolted down, when i bought the seats the brakcets they come with sat me so tall that my head would touch the headliner, i had built a wooden rear seat delete box (thats where the nitrous sat on) and it was the perfect depth that my chair rested right where it needed to be, its retardidly unsafe so id suggest that gets fixed right away lol, but where the seat rubbed against the box it rubbed a tear in the back corner of it...doesnt ruin the seat but just want to get all imperfections out of the way

im sure theres other small negatives that im forgetting that do not affect the way the car runs or drives and i KNOW im forgetting positives that do affect the way it runs drives and looks...it makes me sick typing all that out and thinking about all the money ive put into but i think im realistic with what im looking to get out of it...if your looking for a perfect car this isnt it, if your looking for a car thats fast fun and turns heads that you dont mind turning, or getting your buddies to turn) a wrench to make even more every day driver friendly then this is an incredible value...

    [/the add]

what do you guys think is a realistic price this would fetch? or should i just not worry about alot of it and throw it on Robert Street outside my work and just sell it to some one driving by that thinks its pretty and will go fast?

is asking 6k for it too high? i see junky stock 3rd gens on craigslist for 4k all day, if they get that or not who knows and like i said i dont expect much of my money back at all but for much less then 5500 id rather it just sit under a cover and hopefully ill get back into it...i saw a couple months ago there was a guy on here selling an ls1 3rd gen that was beautiful and looked like everything was done right and i thought he got barely anything for it...discouraging

i think a lot of us have been at this point and considered and went through with it and sold their toy theyve invested so much time and money into and it does suck so thanks for the serious replies...

I'd probably give you $4000 for it, maybe even more. I always liked your car, despite the purple flames. Actually I'm pretty sure I could just resell it for more.

Honestly You should just keep it, because considering all the shit that is fucked up or not completed on the car I dont see that its worth anywhere near what youre asking for it.

But on the other hand, its worth whatever someone is willing to pay for it.

would also trade for sportbike or add cash for v-rod

its all small easy repairs for someone who knows a thing or two...unfortunatly i dont lol...i was going to give it to a buddy for a week or so to fix the things that would make for a more appealing sale (tranny window spedo...) then maybe id be in the above 5k range but i completely get what your saying and was kind of what i was thinking, i could mask may of the negatives to get a sale but i dont want the buyer to be unhappy or surprised with it ever cuz it really isnt a pile or anything, im just not into like i was so lately anything thats needed repair just gets rigged to work

I bet you could find someone to give you 6k for it. To a Camaro guy, your's seems to be pretty desireable considering the motor that's in it and some other modifications. I would list it for 7k obo. The downside is the things that are wrong with it, although somewhat simple, will effect the sale by 2k or so (2k less not fixed, 2k more fixed) imo. People will pay good money for a car that is in perfectly working order, it's the questionable things that will really keep it from selling or getting decent money for it.

          Good luck.
