Anyone able to get discount Lucas oil national tickets?

Looking for admission and camping (zoo) tickets to the Nationals Aug. 18th-21st. I ran into a local racers wife a couple years back and she was able to get Admission and camping for $80 each so we paid him $100 for each ticket. The guy made a quick easy $120 for doing nothing. If you know anyone that is able and would be interested in helping out and make a little extra $ let me know. Thanks

Any racer entered in the event can buy the $80 entry tickets but they do NOT include "camping". Until a few years ago any person with a "racers" ticket could go into the campground whenever they wanted. However, Jed (the owner) discovered this loophole and no longer allows "racers" into the campground for free. When this first happened he was demanding the racers pay $75 dollars extra (standard camping fee) just to go into the campground to party.... even though they were staying (camping) in the pits. Needless to say, there was almost a riot at the front gate that year on Friday night. Jed had himself locked in the front office and was yelling at the angry crowd from inside the ticket windows. Last year the fee was $40 if I remember correctly. Even the PRO racers were having problems getting into the campground. Touring PRO's have an NHRA "Hard Card" which BIR would recognize and let the drivers in, but PRO crew guys don't have the same card so they weren't included. I saw Craig Treble arguing with a security guard when he was trying to get his guys into the campground. They told him "you have a hard card, you can go in, but your crew guys need to pay the extra fee."

Their prices have gone up every year since I started going. I honestly don't know if I will go there at all this year.

Yes it is huge B.S. When I started going a pit vehicle was $10 how can they justify $60? Overall the weekend cost only $135. It does suck I always have a great group of guys going and we make it our once a year "guys trip" but with the economy and people in the group getting married/having kids their cash is a little shorter and $250 for the weekend just to get in plus food and beer is making them not be able to go. I am just trying to help my friends out so we can keep the tradition going. So even if we have to pay the extra $40 that still helps out save about $50 for a few guys. I've been going since I was about 10 years old. Like you said, people will pay to get drunk and drive around consequence free. Every time I have been there in the last 15 years there has been quite a few people who have road out in an ambulance lol.

Last year was the first time the used off duty Ramsey county sheriffs for security. (instead of Crow Wing County) On Saturday night I asked the head guy how many people they arrested and he said NONE. He said if someone was causing problems they would just send that person back to their campsite. In previous years the cops (CWC) were pricks and would arrest people for the dumbest things. I know one guy who spent the weekend in the Brainerd jail lunchroom (the jail cells were full) because he accidentally shined his flashlight in a cops face. lol

Those discount tickets are more than likely the advanced sale price just for the fact advanced sales end on 7/13.
