Basicly looking for a 4cyl chick car.

Will also consider buying a +'93 4cyl 5spd 2wd ranger and giving her my saturn.

Get her a ion, they run worry free besides some power steering and ignition switch issues. don't get one with the cvt trans tho.

Cheapest ion on CL is 3k and a decent one is 4k. I'd have one of those if they were under 2k.

a guy got 468k out of his 03 ion 5 speed. did reg maint, and replaced a cooling fan. origional clutch and it died because the head cracked.

trust me these are great reliable cars even tho its out of ur spending zone.

I heard of a guy getting 1 million miles out of his old POS chevy 1500 350/th350....then GM gave him like 25 grand for just the motor or something like that...completely off topic though...

Just because a couple of them lasted doesnt mean they all will. You can have 2 cars exactly the same with all maintenance at proper intervals amd end up with with one that lasts forever and one thats a lemon. Imo if its out of your price range and a saturn dont bother. If you find one under 2k do as you please

My saturn was great just -40 degree weather and a t6 turbo didn't mix very well...
