Well, thats what I get for NOT googling thuroughly enough! sorry. Even if there is NO veggie monster... I can't believe that they are changing a character that we all grew up with. To eat veggies...STUPID!
Cookie monster is NOT making kids FAT. Parents are by buying the shit & letting the kids eat a package at a time!
Drives me nuts, how they change things to be pussified.

Cookie Monster has not been pussified, he's been improved. Sesame Street is not strictly entertainment. It wasn't when you were a kid, and it isn't now. Their mission statement says "[Sesame Street] develops innovative and engaging educational content delivered in a variety of ways." It isn't about Cookie Monster making kids fat, it's about using the character in new and innovative ways to teach material that was largely overlooked until recently.

If you have an 11 year old daughter then I assume at some point you had a 4-6 year old daughter. How much time did you spend teaching her healthy eating habits and the importance of diet? I've seen kids mimic Cookie Monster a thousand times. I imagine it would be a godsend if once, just fucking once, they would mimic a character and demand carrots and some green beans.

Children are little sponges. If I'm going to let them watch a show as influential to them as Sesame Street I would feel better knowing that the writers and producers give healthy diet consideration as they create the show.
