Handgun sale question

I have a springfield xd that I bought new that I am thinking about selling. Do I have to do any paper work or anything to sell it to a private party? Thanks

In mn you don't need to do any paperwork but its a smart idea to do a bill of sale to cover your ass incase whoever buys it does anyhing illegal

Yup. I bought an XD-9 from a forum member and we just did a bill of sale with the serial number. He got a copy, and I got a copy. He was the original owner of it so if that gun kills someone, they'll go to him, he'll show them the bill of sale, and they'll come knocking on my door to ask questions.

Im not allowed to have firearms the state took that away from me. I flipped out and crushed this guys eye socket, jaw, nose, and orbital bone or something…2 years of court and 1 plea bargain no Gun for me….
