    Chicago?

Any of you guys ever spent much time there? We're looking to take a vacation there this spring since it's so close, and I've only ever driven through it. We figure on just staying Friday through Monday. Looking mainly to stay in the Downtown area, don't want to stay too far away from there. Just curious if any of you ballers have spent much/anytime in the area, and if so, what hotels do you recommend looking into? How about restaurants? I've been told that Gino's Eastside is about the best Chicago style pizza you can get.

I've been looking on Priceline & Expedia daily, checking the reviews, but they're not always helpful. I.E "the room was great except the water in the bathroom sink wasn't cold enough" etc. So I figured I'd check with some of you brah's as well.

    I recommend…

    Portillo’s for Chili Cheese Dogs
Lou Malnatti’s for Pizza if you like Deep Dish
The Chicago Museum is cool. I forget the name….maybe that is the name?
    Navy Pier
    Taste of Chicago is badass
Jameson’s Steak House in Arlington Heights has some of the best Steak I have ever had. http://www.jamesonsdundee.com/

Just don’t be a typical Mn fuckhead and drive in the left lane. If you go under 90mph in the left you will get tail gated, lights flashed and honked at. People do not believe in "going around someone in the left lane that's driving slow" in Illinois. Move over.

Go to a Cubs game if you can. A pretty amazing experience.

haha yeah, I heard about some of those places. And I don't plan on much driving. Mainly walking & cab fares since I don't know where the fuck I'm at, going or how to get there. Yeah, I was hoping to check at least 3 or 4 greasy hotdog and/or pizza joints while we're there. We definitely are checking Navy Pier, that and the tower are currently at the top of the list of stuff to do.

Rent a car and get a GPS. There is no excuse not to have one. That’s one of the main reasons I could not see what I wanted to when I lived there 10 years ago. The city is just fucking huge. And easy to get lost. With a GPS, that’s all gone now.

The amount you will spend on cab fare will be way more than renting a car.

i've lived there for a while and visit often. never stayed at a hotel, my sister lives right in the city so this poor brk fgt stays with her. cool city, lots of public transportation is very nice. don't take the cab, ride the L.
lots to see, i'd go with an agenda of places to see.

I've been to Chicago and loved it. You should check out the BBQ restaurant Dicks Last Resort. They come to your table and just throw your silverware all over the table, break your straws so you can't drink out of them and make paper hats that everyone has to wear that say obscene things like, "She deep throats, I'm easy, etc etc." It was a blast.

It's also cool to check out some of their famous Jazz clubs.

We went to a Cubs game which was a blast.

Check out the Sears Tower too, pretty neat.

And their museums are great too.

            Navy Peer for the win.

I lived there for a year and a half and the places Nick mentioned are worth going to. Haven't been to that steak house.

I hate Chicago and it's suburbs. The only thing I look forward to when I travel there is a Portillos Italian Beef sandwich.

On the topic of Portillos, you can order some of the items online and they ship it to you. I'm going to try it soon. Mail order beef sandwich.

That must be the place a co worker told me about. I plan to go there if I'm ever out that way.

We just were walking by and decided to stop in to eat, not knowing what we were getting into. It was one of the funnest restaurants I've been to, but don't bring little kids there.
