I’m far from an economic genius but did read the article. I guess I don’t see what the issue is, the state spent 1.6 million to set up a 600 million line of credit to make sure their reserves don’t fall below a safe operating level. I concede the money is going towards nothing and considering it all has to be paid back anyways, this is just 1.6 on top of that, fair enough. I would guess you would be in favor of raising taxes to cover the shortfall, but I think we all can agree that when the government decides to take more they often take more than they need and often that tax increase to solve a temporary shortfall turns in to a permanent tax hike. Considering many other states are doing the same I would say it was a pretty good move to have insurance that the state wouldn’t have to “shut down” while also avoiding a tax increase.
So how would you have dealt with this problem?

There are things that should have been in place long before the state started going broke. I think if you're elected into office you should focus on your job and not spend your time going everywhere else, and not dealing with the problems you're having in the state you're supposed to be running.Originally posted by 93SVT View PostI’m far from an economic genius but did read the article. There is no excuse for elected officials not doing their job.. if they can't do their job they should be fired and find someone else to do the job. It's funny how people get away with doing nothing or completely fucking over the budget to the point there is no coming back.

Considering the taxes in this state, I'd say the democrats have done their job pretty dilligently.Originally posted by sport the war View PostThere are things that should have been in place long before the state started going broke. And so have the RINOs that squeaked by. God I hope Mark Dayton wins the gov. elections, idiots in this state deserve the bullshit candidates they keep electing...
Did I mention I can't wait to get out of this shithole?

So would you consider yourself to be a baller or poor? Since you're implying we have no middle class now...Originally posted by SFC View PostRemind me again what the top tax rate was in say... 1963. You know, when our country was just in SHAMBLES. And we still had a middle class.

You should probably take a voluntary pay cut so you can be the only middle class person in America.Originally posted by SFC View PostRemind me again what the top tax rate was in say... 1963. You know, when our country was just in SHAMBLES. And we still had a middle class.

Like LTD said that is a very bold statment saying there is no middle class , the earning classification of middle class has just shifted.Originally posted by work in progressI'm done with foxes!!!Originally posted by NotchMine is built using only Ford parts. Anything else would be a sin.
