    Windows 7 networking question

Ok, I bought a new laptop (after upgrading my old one, the hinge broke... ). It came with Windows 7 home premium. Can't say I'm blown away, as I never really had a problem with vista. The only weird thing so far, I keep seeing what can only be as other people's routers in my network. In the one below, the XtremeN gigabit router is mine, but the other one has to be someone else's? at times I'll even see 3-4 others... Is there a cure for this?

First off why do you care? Is it prompting you to join the other networks?

Depending on what driver and software he is using. 7 may tell him that there are other networks available. Pop up window or some other annoying notification.

To the OP does it do that while you are connected to your network?

Also can you right click on the "other" network and ask it to ignore in in the future or something to that affect?

It's not a problem. If you're on comcast, sometimes you'll see other people in your neighborhoods routers/computers. Also, it could just be your wifi card showing you available networks.

Nope, right click only has "Configure", cancel and properties. Under properties I can see the mac address and stuff and under configure it asks for an 8 digit pin.

why would windows see anything past your own router as being part of your LAN?
