On a side note. I have had really good experiences with Powder Coating Technologies in Plymouth. They did our race car chassis at work and also a motorcycle frame.

If the intake pipe is aluminum it would buff to a nice shine pretty easily. A few compounds and pads, maybe 1.5 to 2 hrs no prob.
