    302 short block needed

I am in need of a 302/5.0 short block. I have a 90 lx with a nasty vibration starting at 2000rpm. I have tried a new flywheel and a balancer with no luck.
I did a compression check and it is all over the map, from 110 to 135 max, I am finished with the existing motor. Let me know what you have, forged pistons are a must!!!!!! Thank you much.

you should post ballpark what you are looking to spend. not very common for somebody to build a 5.0 with a forged crank and forged rods. If spending the money on nice parts everybody does 331 or 347. also rarely do people use the 800+hp rated rotating assemblies on ford blocks that fall apart from 400-600 hp typically. It doesn't make any sense.

I have a 306 with forged pistons and beefier I-beam rods and a full counterweight crankshaft 28 oz., main girdle, balanced, etc... but it's not cheap by 5.0 standards. also I have a 331 that needs a little work. you can PM me if you want.

Thanks for the advice, I appriciate it. I am looking for a stock replacement, I am just trying to get the car on the road. I bought the car from someone on here without an intake, he gave me an intake with it and I put it together, thats when I found the vibration. I have installed a new trans, clutch, and flywheel. After no results I tried a balancer, no luck again. I have a set of gt-40 aluminum heads and a TFS stage 1 cam, That is about as far as I will go this year, so a stock short block should do me just fine for now. I am looking to spend about $300 or so, unless the "ultimate deal" lands in my lap!

Dumb ? is the vibration while driving at 2000 rpm and up.
With what you replaced I would check the Driveshaft U-Joints before I put a motor in it.

          Just my .02.
          Progress. Should be fun.

It does it while sitting still, foot on clutch, foot off clutch! It is in the motor for sure. Also started it with out the belt on so I know it is not a pulley. Idles great and even makes power, just shakes the teeth out of my head!

You have the correct firing order? 302s and 5.0HOs are different. If so I'd do a compression test. some thing doesnt seem right. You make sure you are using the correct balance parts. theres a lot of 28oz/50oz 302s out there.

The compression test numbers are not "all over the map" for a used engine and is not the cause of the vibration.

Have you taken the trans out yet? That motor is no spring chicken but I really don't think its your issue but can't tell ya where else to look either. Could it be a miss vibe? The intake was removed cause it was running shitty.
