WTB: Cobra brake setup, FS: GT brake setup

Need to stop harder and faster more than once in a row....
99-04 Cobra Calipers, Rotors, pads, hoses...
I checked with Tousely and will most likely buy the rear kit if someone doesn't have that since it's only $150.
    Thanks.

Hey thanks!! I check e-bay for everything else, I just never looked for these.
Is there a reason for drilled and/or slotted other than to "look cool"?

They came without the caliper brackets so I got that going for me... Anyone have some of those?

Good shape rotors, new calipers and lines; $270. I'm watching an auction now for a set of brackets. Probably put on there by the guys buddy.

i bought the tousley kit too.. its 150 for the rear adapter peices, plus you need to run calipers too, steve and i went through this.. you can modify your rear calipers, but its just easier to order new ones, plus they come loaded!

Your back brakes don't work that hard anyways. Just run Cobra fronts with Hawk (or some other) pads all around. I never have a problem running BIR or MAM.

I got the cobra fronts, all but the brackets to hold the calipers. I'm not doing the backs....

on the drilled/slotted question, people will tell you 1000 different things. my take on it, get em slotted if you can; my stock cobra/mach brakes, in stop and go traffic, crystallize. drilled tend to crack more often than just slotted, and you lose more friction surface with both than just with one.

I got drilled and slotted rotors in the back cause I had to change mine - c clip elim installation gone bad = pad ate the inside of my discs. I couldn't find anything simply slotted anywhere in stock at the time.

Drilled and most slotted rotors aren't even considered safe for road racing. All of it is for looks, unless you are using a specialized brake pad that specifically calls for slotted rotors. The reason you hear so many people say different things is that some people don't like the fact that the fancy expensive "cool looking" rotors they just bought are inferior to blanks.

Still have the stock GT brake stuff?

I'm switching (on my 82 GT) to 93 cobra rear calipers with EBC red pads with slotted and dimples rotors....all part of the EBC track kit. I'm also switching the fronts to 90 LCA, spindle, MK7 calipers, and the 11" EBC rotors and pads. Cant wait to see the difference from stockers...

Anyone have a picture of how the cobra brakes assemble into the caliper?

                              Piture?
I have all the separate pieces for my GT to Cobra upgrade, which direction does the pin go? where do all the little washers go? How do the pad clips go in?
                              Thanks!
