Yes they are. Don't say that like i'm a dumbass. I've done plenty of research. I'm putting a stock '86 in my '91. They older K-members measure 22.75 from the front control arms bolts where as the newer '88-93 stangs measure 23.75. Also, the Tubular K-members that are made for '79-93 are not built to exact specs, which is why the "fit" all the '79-95 but are not going to be the same as stock. Aftermarket K-members move your wheels. My Tubular PA Racing '79-93 Tubular K-member is 24.00. The k-members change the mounting position of the A-arms. Trust me, i've measured them all. Hence i have my '91 LX stock K-member, my '86 GT stock k-member, and my Tubular PA Racing K-member.Originally posted by prostang92 View Postwhat mounting holes are different??? wasnt trying to be an ass, i was just curious? thats why they make different length control arms, for the different years, and the only reason they changed the demension was to accomadate the 16" pony wheels... all you would need to do is get some short control arms... just an fyi racecraft makes them...

Sorry if this is a stupid question, but does this alter how/where the engine sits in the car as well? The Paxton kit I bought kinda fit like shit in my car (head unit touches the hood occasionally, etc). Just wondering if the '86 K-member would have anything to do with it, if the kit was designed for '87-'93?Originally posted by UptonFord1989 View PostThey older K-members measure 22.75 from the front control arms bolts where as the newer '88-93 stangs measure 23.75.

No i don't believe there is any difference as far as that goes. Although, i have never measured that before so i don't know for sure.Originally posted by KrisR View PostSorry if this is a stupid question, but does this alter how/where the engine sits in the car as well?
