Anyone know a good place to buy a block from? Dan, I want to do what you did and build one, then when it is all done, I will drop it into the 69. I want to have it ported and everything.

Might be cheaper to buy a shortblock from somewhere already done. I rebuilt mine from parts because I wanted to learn how to do it. If you just want a performance engine, buy a shortblock.
And it's the heads and intakes that get ported.

I was thinking $75 . Its a complete short block that is fully disassemled except the cam is still in the block. Needs to be cleaned up but I just havent had a need for it yet and its taking up space. If you want I will throw in the C-4 tranny I got with the motor for no charge.

That's a good combo Dave, pick it up. I have a flexplate and bell housing if you need it too.
