I got an extra 164 tooth. You wanna borrow it and see if it fits? C4 has large and small bellhousings. Do you know which one you have. I'm guessing no. Try my flywheel, see if it fits. I'll bring it to D3afM3tal's on sunday if you want?

Real good question. I dont know either. If it was me I would try to fit the 164 tooth on the tranny and see if it clears the bell housing AND then check for a starter that will work. Maybe someone else on the board has a secret method for determining big and little C4 bellhousing.

Oh I remember how to tell the difference. Measure the distance from the top starter bolt to the first bellhousing bolt on the starter side and I can tell you which one you have.

I know its a small block bell housing, the more i think about it.

Check this out. Gives you all the specs for the two different bellhousings and converters. Converters are different between the two bellhousings also. Hopefully your converter and bellhousing are both the same 157 or 164.

its and 85 C4 Pan Fill. so 164 teeth im guessing. so would this constitute the "Larger C4"? The torque converting im looking at is from a larger c4..

if it makes it any clearer. the Torque converter is like 12" Diameter.
