5/16 threading needs to be at least 1 inch long, but threads only need to be 1/2.

Any parts store should have one. Probably cost you 50 cents. Just bring the old one in to match it up.

if the threads are hard to find (metric), buy some pipe & flare kit & re use your threaded end & make your own

It's a 5/16 fitting and they don't make them 1 inch long like that one from any parts store or speciality brake shop in the cities. Been to NAPA, O'Reilly WHSE, Auto Zone, Checkers and nobody stocks it or can order one.

Can get an inch long one in 1/4, but that does me no good.

Go find a 96 or 97 thunderbird in a junk yard around here. Only 2 years off of they will work.

Have you tried any tranny shops? I am sure they would have a way to get one. I cant imagine they make people replace their cooler just because a fitting cant be found at a parts store.
