WTB BB 9" 3rd

My father broke a 31 spline chromoly axle which took out the spool, both carrier caps and a whole bunch of other crap with it when it popped.

Looking for a big bearing 3rd so he can stuff some Dutchman 35 spline shafts and a spool into. Should measure 3.25" on the bearing.

What was he running to destroy a 31 spline axle? I've got a ton of 9" pumpkins, but don't know if any are big bearing. I'll take some measurements. What did the BB units come in?
