I need a transmission for a 1995 Ford Escort. 1.9L Automatic 4 speed. Not sure where to go, but I am willing to buy a rebuilt one. The one I have cannot be rebuilt as the case and internals are shot.
I need one that works obviously. Preferable if it has the torque converter as well.
Looking online I noticed that there are two different models of transmissions.
A.T., 1.9L, model #TJ, ratio 3.55
A.T., 1.9L, model #TX, ratio 4.06
Where do I look on my old one to find the model number? Will there be issues if I put in a 3.55 one but I actually have a 4.06 or vice versa?
