Go to the crucial site and enter in all of the info about your PC and it you tell you want you need, how many dimm slots you have, and what your max cap is.

I think his point is, for AMD it isn't... AMD didn't go DDR2 until socket AM2 which isn't that old.

Ummm, no it isn't. DDR2 goes up to PC2-8500 which is actually DDR2-1066.

Yes there is DDR3 out there but nothing can take advantage of it in the Desktop market as of yet. Hell the processors with the FSB of 1333 just came out.
