Look here, it doese not have to be a Cingular phone... it can be ANY phone company... as long as its GSM and uses the little chip... any phone like that can be uinlocked, verizon, nextel, anything, and you just put ur cingular phone chip in and you're good to go... its legal too...

Like akromix said, nextel won't work. Verizon won't work either since Verizon uses the CDMA network. Cingular is GSM
