    WTB- Welding/gas tank.

Just picked up a new Hobart 140 and need to get a tank for it. I know I can buy one from the local welding store, but its a it more than I want to spend. Wanted to see if anybody has anything they want to sell. Obviously must be up to date and what not.

Looking for a 80 cubic ft one aka 36" tall roughly.

    Thanks,

    Josh

a 125 cf or "S" will last roughly as long as an 11" spool of wire. It's not exact, but is in the ball park. It's all relative.
kind of sucks running out of gas in the middle of a project.

Just buy a tank from Toll (or whatever welding store your near) and be done with it. It will be cheaper in the long run than leasing/ renting a tank. Also the cost of inspections is built into the price of a tank. if you purchase a tank, inspections is something you will need to consider.

I'm not a pro welder by any means. just a back yard kind of guy. but I can burn through taks at an alarming rate and have gotten burnt on running out of gas in the past.

Contact American Cylinder out in Wyoming.
They sell recertified used tanks. CHeaper than buying from Toll.

if you still dont like the price, PM me and i might be able to work out a deal.

I just bought a tank from Mississippi Welders in Hudson for $200 out the door. 75/25. Brand new, certified, 80 lbs, filled and in my name. They are $50 to fill, so unless you find one less than a year old with certification papers for $100, it might be worth you're time. But then you also have to contact the vendor and change ownership. Just buy one new.

A one year lease from Praxair is 45 for the tank and 65 for the contents of a class "m" tank (c25 gas). Could be a cheaper option.

barack obama is president. You no longer need concern yourself with your own welfare. The government, as nanny state, will protect, provide and handle everything for you. All you need do is demand your "entitlements", continue to vote Democrat and watch Oprah.

Vote democrat... because your daddy's union boss said so and millions on welfare are depending on it.

Thanks guys! All great options, I will check that out!

Yea, I did call Mississippi in Hudson and might go that route, but $200 seems a bit steep.

Praxair seems like a good option right now.

Praxair and Oxygen Service have pretty decent deals on leasing tanks. I personally lease them through Toll, I only get a good deal because my buddy works there. Do some shopping, you can find some good deals out there on tanks.
I love the hate, gives me a new purpose.
