2001 jetta hurt motor. what's it worth?

I believe its a 2001, I know it's a Jetta VR6 5-speed. He thinks it has a bad motor. Doesn't even want to mess with it. not real pretty but only 90k miles on the odometer. pics are worth a thousand words. Good tranny, clutch, heated leather seats are in pretty good shape. many of the body panels are all good. He wants to sell it complete. What should we ask? Has clean and clear title in hand.

5-600.00 tops.Just finished an engine for one of these,the parts are very expensive and it's a complex and hateful little engine to work on.

From the looks of the interior and what looks like a white aftermarket bumper I'd imagine it's pretty beat up, $500.00 is all I'd give.

whats the story on the 84 z28? looks like someone wrecked it up big time did they actually blow the motor or pull it for something else?
