1968 Bullitt Matching #s "r"/"s" code car

Gauging interest for a friends dad on his 1968 Mustang Bullitt 390 car. Aside from being a c6 car, this thing is identical. R code / S code car. I am trying to talk him out of it but I think he is going to sell it anyways. This car is immaculate. Original metal, California car. I will post pics if I can figure out how.

Car is nearly completely finished. Some small things yet to do, install alt/ps pump/stuff like that. Pics are a little dirty as it just came back from shop but this car is gorgeous. No price as he is gauging interest at this point but I know that he has SERIOUSLY contemplated taking a bid from another buyer and would love to see this thing stick around. Friend spoke to a seller of a blue 68 with 4 speed in New York and he got 89k for his. Not sure where my buddies dad wants to end up with this one but if anyone is sincere and interested let me know and I will surely forward any questions and information along. Just talked to him, he is saying $54,900 best offer. Has to pop in the instrument cluster yet too. This is not a clone. Has an edelbrock intake on it and Edelbrock performer carb. Complete new front end. This car is gorgeous.

All 68 Bullitt cars are clones of the movie cars. Is this an R car (428) or a s car (390) both are nice the R car is worth twice the S car. If its a S car 54900 is top $, I hope he get it. Good luck, its a nice car.

Sounds like you know your cars. True the one and only Bullitt remains in a barn somewhere near kentucky. Or so the website claims. Just to clarify, the R code I speak of is the Highland green paint code. This is an S code 390 car like the one in the movie. Yes, the 428 cars eclipse the 390 cars in price fetched. Thank you for the complement. Wish I had the money.

Sorry I missed the paint code, when I here R code I think 427/428 car. Yes I know these cars, my 68 is a C code Highland green car & my 69 is a R code Mach 1. I grew up with these cars, and have own at least 1 for over 35 years.

69 is the top dog of all vintage stangs!!! The 68 is nice but no one on here will spend 50 some grand on anything!

68 1/2 is when 428 CJ came out. People WILL spend $50K on a 68...

50k may happen, but it is tough for a 68 fastback. All Bullit clones are is a paint color, torq thrusts, and a 390 4 speed. Pretty easy to make one.
