Car is a 6-speed with a 9" and 4.30's. Cam and boltons, good suspension setup. What tire would you recommend for me? Hoosier has a 26X9.5-16 QTP, MT has their ET street 26X10.5. It will be mounted on a stock camaro wheel. This is just for the track, and maybe the very occasional street use. I dont think a radial will work well with the gear/6-speed at the track. Raceweight should be ~3400 with me in it.
Hoosier QTP or MT ET Street...bias ply

i've hit my best 60' time on 26x10.5x16 et streets... 1.59. 8.8 with 4.30s; and a 2.97 1st gear ratio t56; so pretty close combo. with more torque i'd be willing to bet they'd go quicker.Originally posted by punchSFC is a bag of stupid.Capitalization is the difference between helping your uncle Jack off a horse & helping your uncle jack off a horse.

BFG or MT drag radials are going to be on the ZR1's. Those radials wont hook from a 6000 RPM dump.Originally posted by Sleeper View Postso what happens when you are cruising around and someone pulls up and you dont have your 'track' tires on and spin like crazy and lose?

What tire are you running up front? How is the stability on the big end? I have heard they are kinda floaty with a radial up front.Originally posted by Fosters View Posti've hit my best 60' time on 26x10.5x16 et streets... 1.59. 8.8 with 4.30s; and a 2.97 1st gear ratio t56; so pretty close combo. with more torque i'd be willing to bet they'd go quicker.Originally posted by Geraldblack z is a TCS fgt he should sell that z and go buy a blown 87 gt so he could be a true TCS fgt

I'm running a no-name 165R15 up front, they're wavy at track pressures, they seemed to like 12 psi the most. around town (driving to the track) at 25-30 psi they were ok, they're considerably softer (sidewall) than most tires, so no fast and furious lane changes, but nothing too crazy. on the wobble-wobble scale, I'd say it's the equivalent of taking off the front swaybarOriginally posted by Dom Toretto View PostWhat tire are you running up front? the only thing you may notice going down the track is when you get out of the grooves at the big end of the track... then you can feel them, and at 110+ that's not the best feeling in the world...Originally posted by punchSFC is a bag of stupid.Capitalization is the difference between helping your uncle Jack off a horse & helping your uncle jack off a horse.

Yah thats what ive been reading. I will probably go with the MT, the hoosier doesn't seem as commonly used.Originally posted by Fosters View PostI'm running a no-name 165R15 up front, they're wavy at track pressures, they seemed to like 12 psi the most. around town (driving to the track) at 25-30 psi they were ok, they're considerably softer (sidewall) than most tires, so no fast and furious lane changes, but nothing too crazy. on the wobble-wobble scale, I'd say it's the equivalent of taking off the front swaybar
