Anyone have a Thunder Valley Schedule, there website is down
Thanks for the site....I don't know what site I was looking at, just knew that was the one I had book marked?? Thanks..
Hey you have that red Malibu running around here?? We should get together and see what we got. I run the NX also. Where do you get your bottles filled..
I used to have that site marked also and they changed it for this year. I get mine filled at steve's auto in Jordan or TPI specalties in Chaska. Yes I have the red malibu I think I saw your car at BIR in 03 you were next to me in the tech line. Do you know how much does it cost to run the street drags at BIR and do they prep the track?

I can probably fill your bottles for a reduced cost from my Guy in New Ulm. I tried once from that Steve guy and he wouldn't fill my bottle cause it was out of date. I was like there is a EXP date on the bottle???? I wasn't to happy when I left there but I guess I could understand now since it was his A$$ on the line.
Yes I was up there in the fall of 03. Haven't been up there since but me and 2 others may be heading up there on the 8th. I have heard there track is really nice since they re-did it since 03, but I am not sure on the track prep for the street drags. BIR's site says squat about the whole thing.... I was going to shoot them an email this week. I know to stay clear of the one at Grove City. I was up there last fall for one of theres and the line may have well been slush! 0..........track prep.
I would like to race this weekend since I have off from work for sure but it looks like noone is racing 1/4 mile. I probaby only have enough tire for one more outing this year. I don't really want to get new tires until next spring.

The Date he is referring to is actually a DOT Requirement.
Any one caught filling a cylinder out of date faces fines upwards of $10,000, outlined in Cfr Title 49.
Also, the hydrotest for a cylinder might cost ya 20-30$ if you bring it in. there are 3 or 4 places in minnesota you can bring it as a walk in.
you could bring it to ANY Scuba shop and ask them to have it tested. They will mark up the cost, itll take 2-3 weeks to get it back usually. But with their discounted prices through the companie's they use, you wont be paying much more (or less) than if you bring it to a DOT approved testing Facility.
Also, if you bring it in as a walk in, make sure it is completly empty, or theyll charge to purge it for you. (since its a flammable oxidizer) they need to send it off some place else first, then they get it back and send it in for testing.
its just easier to bring it in your self.
And most times you can have it done in 40 mins or less, if you ask nicely enough. Drop it off, eat some lunch come back and get it.
Doing this, saves lives, i can tell you ive seen a few high pressure cylinders blow up when being tested, and thanks to safety equipment no one dies.
The last cyl i heard of exploding was a 20# co2 tank... Was being filled, the filler heard the leak and tried to run. He lost both legs, and almost his life.
It might have made you angry, but consider if spending the extra money on upkeep and maint on your bottle.. it can and will save either your own, or some one elses life.

Yes I had it hydroed after that ordeal. I had to send it off, did it over the winter. Like I said at the time I wasn't to happy since my car had been down for 3 years and then I finally get it going and ready to try the Nitrous and drove 60 miles and then the sucker don't fill it....? I didn't even know there was a Date on it. I understand now, but the bottle was brand new at the time. Only had it filled once before with my old setup. Whatever is over and done with, just thought the guy acted like a prick.
Keep in mind, that N20 is a high pressure gas, and BAD things can happen when not properly taken care of.
Ive seen welding gas cylinders blow during tests on friends. needless to say, i would hope to NEVER see it happen outside of a test facility. its scary enough to have it happen when your pumping it full of pressure.
then again were usually testing to 2 1/2 x the normal pressure. But we were also making sure the cylinder wouldnt blow up on some one at lower pressure.
ive seen vavles blow out and because of the force, the residual(VERY VERY little) gas in a flammable cylinder(I.E. Hydrogen) go BOOOOM and make alot of noise and almost kill people.
high pressure gas is something to be wary of.
So those of you putting in the car... please do not mount it so that it can blow the valve OR cylinder through the seat and into a passenger or your self.
id Mount it Horizontal in the truck if possible. (twards fender walls)
