Borrow me a 25.5 SFI book?

I am being encouraged to look into building a 25.5 cage to a back half project I'm building right now. I would like to see if it is something I can incorporate now and also plan for what will be needed later if I choose to go that route and certify it. Have lots of questions to be answered.

Go in and talk to a knowledgeable chassis shop, Dukes or Meanstreet. I don't know anyone that regretted over building the chassis.
    Don't ask, it's a midlife crises thing.

I have been dealing with Gary Anderson via a few emails and phone calls. The car is going to have 4 buckets with the rears right next to each other. A pair of short Kirkeys. My 4 link crossmember is 16" from the drivers head reast and typically the main hoop should tie to it. Depending what the good book says, I might have to add another crossmember bar if the main hoop can't be back that far. I also want to run a rear halo wrapping around the package tray. From threre the down bars will provide as a back rest for the seats to bolt to then another angled down bar to the trunk. The funny cage will not be added as of now but want the option later. This car will only really need a 12 point cage. I really don't want to waste anyone's time at a shop as of yet, because I'm not sure what the rule book says I CAN'T do.

Attach your rocker bars to the rear crossmember then set your main hoop on top of your rocker bars as far forward as needed.

Can I still have a safe and strong chassis if I omit the funny cage while using 1 5/8 chromoly. I really want to think this through before I bring it to you. The car is not getting a rear clip. Just a welded in crossmember 4 link and I want chassis strength everywhere.

Everything is in the layout, the funnycar cage really is only for driver protection and has minumal chassis strenth.

I will if it comes to down to it. For now I am hoping to just investigate what is involved to see if it will suite what I MIGHT do with the car.
