July 26th Track Event @ BIR

Just another week until our next track day. You won't want to miss this one. Weather permitting we will be splitting the day between the Donnybrooke course and the Competition course. And as we always do at BIR, this event will be with the BIR Performance Driving School. Gary & his team do a fantastic job. Invite a friend to come up with you. And of course it's great if folks want to just come up & see what it's all about and catch a few rides.

Please REGISTER HERE and then you can make payment either by PayPal, CC or check. Further event information can be found HERE. We will also plan on getting together for some dinner on Sunday night up in Brainerd. I'll send an email out to those registered.

Shoot me an email or give a call if you have any questions (612-839-9436).

    See you at the track!

Looks like we'll have a decent turnout. Anyone else thinking about it?

Stop by & introduce yourself. If all goes as planned, I'll have a red enclosed trailer with my Camaro up there. Otherwise it will be the DD (Accord sedan).

            I'm in too!

I met up with Todd today to buy a helmet and sign up. I'm really excited, this is my first trip to a road course. I've wanted to go to a track day since high school (about 18 years now), and this is the first time things have come together!

For anyone else signing up at the last minute, the hotels on Todd's website are full, but Country Inn & Suites has an $80/night deal going on.

Now, I just gotta make sure I keep the car together on the track so I can drive it home

Will do I was thinking about running my Crown Vic, but I need to allocate my funds to getting my shitbox running

BTW, my buddy with the Evo is the one who keeps blowing up your phone with questions about the event and helmets and such He's really excited to get up there and rip that car up.

I might have to make the August event. It will make a great test/tune outing for the car.

That would be cool. There were some fast cars there today. The new style RED camaro SS had a shitload of HP.

Wow, was a really fun day. I'll have to get some pictures up from the event. I had a blast. What other kind of event can I show up to as a spectator, and go kick around the pits, and end up riding in a Panoz race car?

I'm going to have to get tires on the daily driver and bring it out next time

You get your class first thing in the morning and then you get an instructor in your car to get you up to speed quickly. There are some really good instructors there.

Just signup, tech your car and showup.

Show up with your car. They rented out helmets free of charge to drivers and spectators at the event, and they did a small class in the morning for those who hadn't been there or road raced before.

They took you around in SUV's to show you the track, suprisingly at a decent speed Then they do a small class on driving and such, and if you elected to, you can have an instructor come with you in your car to teach you proper driving style. The instructor that my buddy got was a multiple time top 10 placer in the Indy 500
