NASA at Autobahn in Joliet, IL. July21-23

We are going down on Thursday Night. There is a test and tune on Friday, it should provide alot of track time. Racing and HPDE Saturday and Sunday.

Who is going to this event? Any new guys/girls going, this looks like a great track to start honing your road course skills! No mods required to have alot of fun driving near the limit! Great instruction is provided for free!!!

The old excuse for breaking down and not having a trailer can not be used for a NASA event. All the TCS/Nasa guys are there to get you back home! We won't leave you behind!

Sign up you won't regret it!

I plan to be at racin' Joliet.

I picked up another T5 this weekend and plan to install it along with a change back to 3.55's.

Randy VdL is thrashing on his Cobra to get it on track at Joliet also.

Too bad it's such a long drive from Chi town! What are you going there for?

Going there with the g/f, my roommate and his g/f. Concert on Friday night, then Six Flags on Saturday. I already brought up the idea of going to the HPDE while they go to Six-Flags, but she didn't like that idea.

Now, there's and idea. hmm...drive separate, run Sunday, drive back Monday. Dangit, Brooks! I was starting to think about spending some money on some actual (and much needed) mods, and you had to bring to my attention that it might actually be feasible to make it to this event.

I just checked out. Damn, that looks like a fun smallish track (like MAM).

Anyone know if they are going to use the "North Click", "South Click" or the whole track?

NASA has the South track. The north is supposed to be boring.

North track is far from boring.. I think I was covering it in 1:11 the last time I was there.. You are plenty busy and your brakes need to be freshly bled and in good shape..

Just glancing at the north track, turn N kinda scares me. You have a bunch of speed from the straight before it, then turn N, which is a slight bend, so I assume you carry a bunch of speed through it, but then it looks like you don't have much room to slow down before turn N2. (assuming the track is clockwise.)

Just repeating what the HPDE guy was saying. They only rented the south course. I like my brakes and would love to run the north course also.

Yes it's run clockwise.. Turn-1 (what the map called "N") is really not that bad at all. You are only about 50' from the entry to Turn 2 at that point and have already bled off a lot of your speed.

The north track is a gas...
