BIR Proving Grounds "Modern Muscle" Drag Event Feeler June 21-23

This will be the our 4th annual Proving Grounds weekend at BIR! This event pulls in over 5,000 enthusiasts and racers who participate in all types of racing such as heads up drag racing, road racing (2.5 mile competition course), drifting, auto-x, motorcycle drag racing, car show, and even dyno and burnout competitions.

Any type of car can participate all event EXCEPT Drag. In the past we had limited the drag racing exclusively to sport compact cars but this year we would like to call out some modern muscle to come and join the fun. "Modern Muscle" will be classified by having came with fuel injection from the factory, engine swaps between different makes and models is allowed, assuming the chassis and engine were both factory fuel injected.

Just curious if anyone thinks they would be interested in an event like this and if so how you think we could create some simplified classing as we're more familiar with the Import side of this game.

    Video from past events:

Pricing from last year is listed below just to give you guys an idea:
    General Admission (Spectator or Racer)

Single-day tickets expire one hour after the completion of racing. Anyone remaining and found by security will be fined or will be asked to leave for the remainder of show.

    Children ages 6 – 12: $5.00 per day

Pets: We understand that pets are a big part of the families that have them. Pet's admission and camping are free. Pet waiver must be signed, and pet must remain on leash. Please pick up after your pet so that we can continue this policy.

Full Service Campsites (RV's, etc): additional $30.00 per night. Includes power, water & septic hook-up.

I still fail to see how my old American made truck with a carb has any advantage over an import or modern "muscle car" with efi

Nothing to do with having an advantage, and for the record I would love to allow everyone to run. Bur BIR doesn't want to take racers away from some of their other events. We feel allowing modern muscle at both of our two Proving Ground events and having success will help BIR open up even more in the future.

No. We plane for domestic cars regardless of power plant to fall into the domestic classing. What was your thoughts on this?

I dont have any real thoughts. just wondering. I was disappointed that I could not make it last year. thought I would ask if my rb powered mercury can class race. my car was not efi from the factory.

I don't think anyone is scared of a carb'd farm truck.. both MAP's drag cars will destroy your truck (even after your turbo build)... BIR regulates the import/domestic attendance rules IIRC

Would a Roush suspension lowered 2006 f150 reg cab short box step side be allowed to run in all events aside from the motorcycle stuff?
