I rocked the McD's for like a year an a half back in high school. Not the worst job to have (that was Burger King)

    $10/hr at McDs...
At least I know where I can go should I ever quit where I'm at.

I'd die in 30 days from heart failure though... too many egg mcmuffins and filet-o-fish.

Speaking of honey, I found an entire tray of those syrup cups in my cupboard last week. Then when I was cleaning out my freezer there was a McGriddle in the back.

I hated taking orders, I avoided it at all costs because I wasn't really good at selecting all the food and adding removing condiments and shit. Drive thru sucked to take orders. Not so bad to take money at 1st window or present at 2nd. It's hard to explain all the jobs and shit.

You don't want to do fries. That is the shittiest job IMO, when you stand there during a lockdown for an hour and a half straight it gets a little hot and you ALWAYS raise your hand or something to high moving a fry box and burn the shit out of yourself.

I preferred to spend my time in the office on the internet but if I had to work I always liked working on the line doing buns or working the grill.

As much as I can bitch and complain about working at McDonald's, when things went well it really wasnt a bad job at all.

No, just a store manager. Had I stuck with it I'd be that right now, but I was in a high volume store with no leadership, HUGE turnover and the franchise company was having a lot of problems as well. Shortly after I left the 12 stores the owner had were sold and he retired to his many many millions. IIRC 6 of them sold to a McD's regional big wig who was starting out on his own and the other 6 were sold to corporate.

Funny story the owner of the company when I worked there actually received his first store in the 60's as a wedding present from Ray Kroc himself, the location is still there but it's a new building, the one on Prosperity Ave.

The IGH store on 55th was actually given away for free about 10 years ago because it needed so many repairs and the owner had 15-16 other stores he wanted to deal with and didn't want the headache.

I was a 2nd assistant... Although when I started our store didn't have a 1st assistant so I got fucked on that deal... Then after 2 months we didn't have a store manager. It was me and some other stupid bitch running the store, she couldn't do anything besides tell people what to do which meant I had to do all the hiring, training, most of the money, weekly shit, inventory.... God damnit I hated that job with a passion.

Corporate pay scale... As I remember at least:
Store mgr: ~50k + bad ass bonuses, more like 90-100k for a good volume store
    1st asst: ~40k + good bonuses, like 50-60k/yr
    2nd asst: ~32k + bonuses, like 40k/yr

When I put in my 2 week notice they offered me 29.5k/yr and 1st asst title within 6 months putting me at about 35k/yr, I was 20 o something and didn't want to live any longer with the stigma of working fast food.

Yeah, I had plenty of hourly people making 10+/hr. We were also in a very shitty pay franchise company. Once I found out what corporate managers made I immediately found a different job.
