i spent almost two weeks there and this is the only cop car I saw other than a Ford Explorer.... I couldn't believe how much speeding i was able to do...

The more I look at it the more I don't think so. How close did you look at it?

The wheels are wrong. The fender badges are wrong. There is no grill emblem. There is no S H E L B Y across the leading edge of the hood. There are not hood locks. The front turn signals are darked out and should be amber. The corner of the rear spoiler looks too upright. The KR rear spoiler lays much flatter across the trunk edge and does not have that pronounced lip that the one in the picture does. Also there are no brake cooling ducts.

Looks like a clone / kit to me.

Its a KR...i actually just read an article about the KR cop car...and its used in Hawaii

Post it up. I'm not saying that someone is not using a KR there. What I am saying is THAT car in the pictures above is not a true KR.

According to the interwebs, the Hawai'i County Police Department (which polices Kona) allows the use of an officer's personal vehicle to be used as their squad car. A guy would be an idiot to use a REAL $80,000 GT500KR to go cop'n in.

Yup, I've seen a few crazy cop cars out there. I thought they were fake until I looked it up on the intertubes.
